Managed by the York University Philippine Studies Group (PSG), the objectives of the program is to enhance people-to-people relations between the Philippines and Canada through academic programs, projects, and activities related to Filipino history, culture, and society. Moreover, the program fosters academic engagement and strengthens diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Canada.
On 16 October 2025, Consul General Kristine Leilani R. Salle, accompanied by Consul Rodney Jonas L. Sumague and Cultural Officer Maricel Samonte, met with officials and faculty members of York University led by President Rhonda Lenton. The meeting underscored the Consulate General’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with York University, particularly in advancing the Philippine Studies program and strengthening academic linkages.
President Lenton welcomed collaboration on programs, dialogues, institutional linkages, disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) initiatives., including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarships (QES) program, and AI applications.
Consul General Salle also presented copies of “Philippines to the World: A Global Catalogue of Philippine Studies Programs Abroad,” featuring York University among thhe 24 supported PSP institutions.
